Top things to do in Jaipur

If you have already visited majestic forts of Jaipur and other top city's tourist attractions but still have some spare time, we have prepared a list of top activities to do while still here!

Street food at Raja Park

Food

If you’re brave enough to try different Indian food every day, Rajasthan has a wide variety of plates for your empty stomach. Food is available mostly anywhere in Jaipur, whether it’s a street food or restaurants. We want you to have the best culinary experience while here, so we prepared a list of places where you can satisfy your appetite:

  • Tapri Central: Tapri Central is a tea house, with variety of teas, coffees and delicious Indian & European cuisine. It is among the highest rated restaurants in Jaipur not without a reason. The food is really delicious and time spend there really pleasurable, as it has one of the most amazing rooftops in Jaipur, with the view on the Central Park.

  • Street Food at Raja Park: For relatively small amount of money, you can try all kind of food in this area, both Indian and Rajasthani, from Samosas to Masala Dosa, Sauces and Barbeques. If you want to try the local dishes, this is the place to be.

  • Lassiwala: If you are visiting Jaipur, you cannot miss Lassiwala, a lassi shop established in 1941. Lassi is a traditional Indian drink, that tastes like sweetened yoghurt. Don't get fooled by the cheap rip offs of this age old establishment, look for the words "Kishan Lal Govind Narian Agarwal". Lassi here is the best one we have tried so far in Jaipur.

Leisure and entertainment

We understand that tourism is not only about visiting monuments and discovering local culture. However, sometimes you might just want to hang out with your friends or family, take a walk around the city, or simply grab a cup of coffee and check how many likes your last pictures got. So here are some places where you can chill and relax:

  • Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK): JKK, as it is called by the locals, is a cultural centre, built by the government of Rajasthan to preserve local culture. You can come here to visit exhibitions, watch spectacles organised on the daily base or just come to drink a cup of coffee at the local canteen. Their food is also great and at reasonable price.

  • Central Park: Not the famous New York’s Central Park of course, but still a pretty vast and well maintained park. Perfect place to rest from the heat for an hour or two.

  • Raj Mandir cinema: You definitely must’ve heard about Bollywood, right? So it would be regrettable not to experience watching an Indian movie in its homeland. The cinema also displays Western films.

Shopping

Whether it’s a small shop or big mall, you’re definitely going to find what you’re looking for. Just keep in mind these few things: 1) If prices are not fixed, bargaining is a necessity - sometimes it could go as low as one fifth of the suggested price; 2) don’t show too much interest in a product otherwise you might find it difficult to lower the price. Knowing that, now you can fully enjoy shopping experience in one of these places:

  • World Trade Park: One of the biggest shopping malls in entire India, with more than 500 stores and services, you’ll find pretty much everything including the popular chain stores, such as Zara.

  • Rajasthali: Furniture, gifts, Sarees and much more. All handmade and of high quality.

  • The Bazar: Here you can find mostly clothes and jewelry, but there is also a variety of other products.

Jaipur’s Nightlife

If you’re looking for a place to party, Jaipur has plenty of clubs, bars and discos. We cherrypicked some of the coolest of them for you:

  • The Naila Bagh Palace: Our favourite. The Naila club, located in the hotel of the same name, is a great place to enjoy a party, with its pool and dance floor, blending Indian and Western electronic music, it’s definitely the place to check out.

  • F bar & lounge: Located on the top floor of the Golden Tulip hotel. After Naila, it is our second most favourite place for a party. It is quite expensive, yet the view from the rooftop is worth paying some extra money.

  • Bar Palladio: Located in the Heritage Hotel, it is the most beautiful bar in Jaipur. A fancy place to have a glass of whisky or wine with your friends.

  • 100% Rock: For those eager to stun the audience with their amazing voice or totally embarrass themselves, this karaoke bar is a cool place to be with affordable prices.
